Chachapoyas (5 Days – 4 Nights)

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Upon arrival in Chachapoyas, we wait for you at the airport or land terminal, transfer to your hotel.

Night in Chachapoyas in chosen Hotel.

DAY 2: STRENGTH OF KUELAP

Departure from Chachapoyas 08:30 am, for the visit to the Kuélap archaeological monument, it has approximately 500 circular structures at different levels, it is the largest limestone structure in the Americas. It is at an altitude of three thousand meters above sea level. Orchids and Bromeliads cover the walls and trees within this fortress.

We will have a technical stop at the viewpoint of the archaeological center of Macro to explain the function of this archaeological center, then we will continue our journey to the fortified citadel of Kuélap, visit approximately three hours, return to the parking lot, then continue our journey to the town of María where we will have lunch, then return to the city of Chachapoyas, spend the night in the chosen hotel.

DAY 3 –  SARCÓFAGOS OF KARAJIA AND CAVERN OF QUIOCTA

Pick up will be from the hotel in the city of Chachapoyas at 8:00 am to the city of Lamud in the town of Cruzpata, from there we will walk 30 minutes to visit the anthropomorphic sarcophagi of Karajia, unique funerary style of Peru and the world, located in inaccessible cliffs, where the mummified bodies of the most important rulers of the Chachapoyas were placed, we will return to the town of Lamud where we will have a delicious lunch, in the afternoon we will go to the parking lot of the Quiocta cave, five minutes walk to start our visit to the Quiocta cavern where we will observe thousands of stalactites and stalagmites, one hour and average approx. guided tour we return to the city of Chachapoyas.

DAY 4 – CATARATA DE GOCTA

After a delicious breakfast at 8:30 am we will be picked up to start our tour, directing us to the community of Cocachimba from where our trek to the third highest cataract in the world began, enjoying the landscape and the dense forest typical of the high forest, habitat of the Cock of the Rocks, hummingbirds, Yellow-tailed Monkey Choro among other birds and animals of the place then we start with our 2 hour walk to reach the second fall of the Gocta waterfall after admiring its unique beauty and bathing in its waters we will return to the town of Cocachimba to have lunch at a community restaurant (duration of approximately 5 hours) round trip), we will return to Chachapoyas at approximately 5:00 p.m.

DAY 5 – NEXT DESTINY

At the coordinated time transfer to the airport or terminal

End of our services.

• The rate shown in the upper part is 2 people minimum.

• A small backpack for daily departures.
• Sunscreen.
• Wear comfortable clothes for walking (inside the archaeological sites).
