Colca Canyon (Full Day)
The Colca Valley is the biggest attraction of the Arequipa region and also one of the most important in Peru. It can be divided into 2 parts etre Chivay and Pinchollo, the Colca is an open, fertile and populated valley, characterized by beautiful agricultural terraces and a dozen picturesque villages where the Collaguas keep alive their customs.
Itinerary
ITINERARY:
The pick up will be at 2:30 am, we will go to our destination that is the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, in this tour we visit Yanque town of Colca in which in the morning, there is a great trade of handicrafts, from here we depart towards the cross of the condor where you can see the flight of the condors kings of the colca area, in its natural habitat, you can also see the imposing of the second deepest canyon in the world, returning again to Chivay, visit the viewpoints from Choquetico (where we find the hanging tombs and the Litomaqueta), Wayrapunku where you can see the Colca Valley at its best and Antahuilque (where there are some mysterious lagoons), arriving at the traditional village of Maca and the Church of Santa Ana de Maca, you can try the “Colca Sour”, a promoted drink made with ingredients from the valley, returning to the town of Chivay.
In the area we will be about an hour, then we will go to visit the natural viewpoints of Wayrapunku, Antahuilque, Choquetico place where we can appreciate the work of our pre-Inca ancestors, hanging tombs and litho-scale models, returning with the respective stops of the villages of Maca and Yanque and finish in Chivay to be able to go to the hot water pools (LA CALERA) being a time of about 1 hour, return to the town of Chivay lunch and return to the city of Arequipa where we will arrive at approximately 04:30 p.m.
