Cusco Adventure (07 Days – 06 Nigths)

Itinerary

Day 1:  Cusco – Aclimatación – City Tour

Upon arrival in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca culture, we will be waiting for you at the airport or terminal to take you to the chosen hotel; While savoring a cup of mate de coca, which helps with acclimatization at 3,400 meters above sea level, the transfer will give you information about the tours or trips you will make during your stay in Cusco. In the afternoon pick up to start your City tour (01:50 pm), we will visit the archaeological sites that surround our city; the Qoricancha, known as the temple of the sun that in the Inca era was the most important religious center of all the Tahuantinsuyo (original name of the Inca land), in this place you will find one of the finest Inca stone constructions; the next place to visit will be Sacsayhuaman located in the upper part of Cusco where we will have a nice view of the city, we will admire the type of construction cyclopean made by the Incas, where we will find some walls made with stones that weigh between 5 to 128 tons ; continuing our tour we will arrive at Qenqo ceremonial place dedicated to the Pachamama (Mother Earth), this is a natural formation that the Incas used, carved and adapted to carry out their religious ceremonies and mummification, then we will continue to Pukapukara a fort where the control of income of people who came from the jungle to the city of Cusco and to end our tour we will visit Tambomachay temple dedicated to water, where a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls tell us what this place could have been, then we will return to Cusco approx. 7:00 p.m.

Day 2: Sacred Valley Of The Incas – Ollantaytambo

We pick you up from your hotel (8:00 am) then we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the artisan markets and the incredible archeological centers that make this tour an unforgettable place, we will visit the handicraft market of Pisaq, where people still they keep their traditions and we will see their handcrafted works in ceramics, silverware, textiles and others, after visiting this picturesque town we will go to the top of the mountain where we will find the archaeological center of Pisaq, impressive construction built in the Inca period, Here we can observe the great work accomplished by the Incas through an endless number of agricultural terraces, aqueducts, roads, water channels, cemeteries and bridges, that adorn all the mountains around them, after visiting this place we continue our tour by the edge of the river WILCAMAYU (Sacred River) until arriving at Urubamba where they will have a free time for lunch, then continue to Ollantaytambo, where you will find one of the few places in Cusco and Peru where people still use the Inca buildings as homes, the religious part is located in the upper part of the mountain where the temple of the sun continues to project its grandeur; in this place we finish the tour at approximately 04:00 p.m. then we go to the chosen hotel to spend the night in this magical place. Day 3: Cusco – Aguas Calientes.

The tour starts in the morning, we go to the train station located in the town of Ollantaytambo (2 hours from Cusco). We board the train for the town of Aguas Calientes a journey of approximately 2 hours. It passes through a picturesque Andean landscape as are the traditional Villas, streams of crystal clear water, which form the Vilcanota River in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The train continues descending towards the Cloud Forest following the rapids of the Urubamba River, there are brief views of several Inca sites along the way. Finally, the train stops at Aguas Calientes, populated by Machu Picchu. Upon your arrival our collaborators will assist you to take you to the chosen accommodation (afternoon free) at night you will meet the guide at the Hotel de Machupicchu who will provide you with the information for your next day’s tour. Day 4: Machupicchu ” The Lost City Of The Incas ” – Cusco

We will take breakfast early and then head to the archaeological center of Machupicchu by bus, the trip takes 30 minutes, along a path that takes us uphill, unique place, from where we can enjoy views of incredible landscapes of the cloud forest and down the roaring Urubamba River that contours this canyon, will be an unforgettable experience, where our professional guide will transmit the history that surrounds this mysterious and enchanting enclosure, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Intihuatana, the royal precincts, the temple of the Three Windows , the cemeteries and the whole city approximately for 1 hour 50 minutes. After the guided tour, you will enjoy free time to explore the area on your own, take pictures, relax or meditate; This beautiful citadel was built next to the mountain Huaynapicchu if you wish you can visit, but let us know in advance as there are only 400 spaces per day, and we need to make the reservation in advance. After the tour we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes to find a place for lunch in one of the various restaurants and if you want to make purchases. In the afternoon, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo station, upon your arrival and depending on the train reservation, our collaborators will wait for you to transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco. Day 5: Tour Moray – Salt Mines

We pick you up at 08:20 am from your hotel, this half-day tour is the best alternative to get to know the unique archaeological site of Moray, where we will observe huge depressions or natural holes that in the Inca time, its contours were used to build terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels, the temperature varies in each of the levels, this was an important center of acclimatization and hybridization of wild plant species that were modified or adapted for human consumption. Then we continue to the Salineras located 7 km from Moray, known by some as the “Salt Mines” are constituted by some 3000 small wells, built on the side of the mountain “Qaqawiñay”, this salt extraction activity was also carried out During the Inca period to prepare their food and carry out the exchange of products with other nearby inhabitants. Today the inhabitants of the area continue to carry out the extraction, and it is the base of the economic sustenance of the area. After the visit we return to the city of Cusco approx. 02:30 pm. Day 6: Cusco – Fukk Day Of The Rainbow Mountain

Recojo de su hotel a las 3:00 am, para emprender un viaje de 3 horas por los valles del Sur de Cusco, durante el recorrido veremos campos y paisajes nevados. Observaremos los primeros rayos del sol como iluminan el sendero hasta llegar a la comunidad de Quesiuno (4.326 m.s.n.m.) lugar donde nos aguarda un energético desayuno andino preparado especialmente antes de emprender la caminata hacia la montaña Vinincunca (5,100 m.s.n.m.); terminado el desayuno nos alistamos con todos los implementos de caminata y una buena carga de agua que nos permite emprender nuestro ascenso a la montaña Vinincunca. Será una caminata de aproximadamente 3 horas (7.5 km), si usted desea puede alquilar caballos o mulas que los pobladores de la zona le pueden ofrecer, desde este punto observaremos una vista del nevado más grande de la zona el Ausangate cubierta de nieve en casi toda su totalidad. A medida que ascendemos sentirá el aire más limpio y frío que la tierra nos puede regalar, el calor de la gente que alegremente nos recibe en sus montañas nos permite entender la alegría y la tranquilidad que irradian sus pobladores, ya en la cima los sentimientos y el esfuerzo expuesto en la meta son disipados de forma inexplicable. Al finalizar el paso tendremos la vista del accidente geográfico más maravilloso y enigmático, la gran cadena de montañas de colores. Donde el guía nos dará una pequeña explicación del origen de esos colores. Terminando esto efectuaremos el camino en descenso de manera pausada y mesurada hasta el poblado de Chilca pues ahí ya espera por nosotros nuestro almuerzo de tipo andino acompañado de mates o refrescos para hacernos sentir la calidez de estos pobladores. Al terminar el almuerzo tendrá un tiempo libre con usted mismo todo esto hasta el recojo del transporte para ir de retorno a Cusco seguidamente tendremos un viaje de 3 horas hasta la ciudad llegando al promediar las 7:00 pm. Una vez ahí usted tendrá la total satisfacción de haber podido disfrutar esta experiencia única que hizo que su vida sea una aventura (D, A)
