Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (3 Days – 2 Nights)

Performing the Inca Trail of 3 days 2 nights is without a doubt a unique experience that a tourist can have in his life experience sensations of everything that will be recorded in you and you will find yourself exploring this route. In fact it is difficult to find words to describe the sensation that one can experience every day and in all these 3 days.

Itinerary

DAY 1: KM 82 PISCACUCHU – HUAYLLABAMBA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA.

We pick you up from your hotel very early to board our transport to the Km 82 Piscacuchu place where the respective controls of income to the Inca Trail are made, in this same place you will have to present your tickets together with your passports or the identity document with that you made your reservation, once you have passed the respective controls we start our magical adventure at a height of 2,720 meters above sea level. On this day the walk is smooth, we will cross a bridge and we will walk through the Vilcanota river, we will continue the walk and we will arrive until Huayllabamba at 3100 meters above sea level. Where will we have our lunch.

DAY 2: LLULLUCHAPAMPA – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAYWAYNA.

After a good breakfast we will restart with our trek, we will ascend towards the highest point of the Inca Trail called Warmi wañuska at 4,200 masl / 13,780 feet. This day is considered the most difficult and most attractive part of the trip, it will be something extensive but interesting, We are going to have an average of 12 hours of walking. Then we will descend to Pacaymayo at 3600 masl and then ascend to the second highest point that is Runkuraqay (3900 masl). At this point we will have a beautiful view of the snowy Veronica and the snowy Pumasillo in its fullness during the day, we will descend until we reach the jungle edge with a variety and diversity of flora and fauna with respect to the previous days, we will observe the different types of forests we will explore archaeological centers such as: Runkuraqay, Sayacmarca, Qonchamarca, Chaquiqocha, Phuyupatamarca and Intipata, we will also pass through the famous Inca tunnel, we will descend Inca stairs, which will take us to the famous Wiñayhuayna archaeological complex (2700 masl) of our last camp.

DAY 3: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO.

This is the most anticipated day of our trip. We leave very early in the morning, where we will go by the same original route of the Inca road to Intipunku (door of the sun) at 2745 meters above sea level. Where we can observe in the distance the citadel of Machupicchu in all its splendor and majesty. We will have a 2 hour tour with our specialized guide that will lead us to the most important places of this wonder of the world and will give us the necessary explanations about its history and its Andean meaning. Then we will have free time to take the most beautiful photographs and admire this enigmatic Sanctuary. Then we will go down to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will have a free time to have lunch and get to know this picturesque place. Then we will board the train that will take us to the Ollantaytambo station where our transport awaits us in the direction of Cusco.
