Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (4 Days – 3 Nights)

The Inca Trail got used as a communication system for the Incas to run from one place to another in the humongous Inca Empire which stretched from south Colombia to north of Argentina. There are different Inca trails to hike, but this one is the most famous Inca trail and it will take you from Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, through beautiful landscapes and different archaeological Inca sites.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – WAYLLABAMBA.

Pick up from your hotel 6:00 a.m. to approach our mobility in the direction of the Town of Ollantaytambo (2 hours), where we will have free time of 10 to 15 minutes to make our last purchases and make use of the hygienic services, to then continue with our trip towards Km 82 Piscacuchu from where We will enter the network of the Inca Trail, in this place after passing the first check we will start this impressive tour, we will walk near the Vilcanota river bank, we will have a beautiful view of the snow-capped La Veronica then we will ascend until we reach the first archaeological center from Patallaqta where we will have lunch, after receiving the information from our guide we will continue our route until we reach Wayllabamba at 3100 masl. Where we will spend the night after a refreshing dinner.

DAY 2: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PACAYMAYU.

After breakfast, we continue with our trek, this day for many the most difficult since we will ascend for 4 hours to the highest point of the Warmiwañusca route (4200m.snm), where we will have an impressive view of this valley, we will find many Inca steps that cross the mountain, after lunch we will continue with the descent until we reach our second Pacaymayu camp where we will have dinner and spend the night.

 DAY 3: PACAYMAYU – PHUYUPATAMARCA– WIÑAYWAYNA.

Today enjoy a walk with completely impressive scenarios, after a comforting breakfast we will begin to ascend to the second most important step of the Inca trail the archaeological complex of Runcuracay (3900 masl) where we will have a guided tour and descend for 2 hours to the extraordinary center Archaeological Saya brand, after having explored this unique place, we will cross a beautiful forest of semi-tropical clouds heading towards the third step of the Inca trail, Phuyupatamarca at 3800 meters above sea level Here we will have spectacular views of the snowy peaks and the extreme geography that surrounds us, after an appetizing lunch and a short break we will continue descending until we reach Wiñaywayna at 2650 masl. DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO.

After breakfast, we will start the walk early to arrive on time and be able to appreciate the sunrise that we will see at a distance in Machu Picchu, after walking for 1 hour we will arrive at the INTI PUNKU sector (door of the sun), wonderful entrance to the citadel MACHU PICCHU, will be for you an unforgettable adventure prize for the effort and the challenge undertaken, here we will have a guided tour of 2 hours in the most outstanding places of the citadel, then have free time to take photos and visit the places that most impact them .
After the tour we will have to descend to Aguas Calientes (town of Machupicchu) where they will have time to have lunch and in the afternoon we will board the train to return to the station in Ollantaytambo and then return on our tourist bus to Cusco.
