Paracas – Nazca (Full Day)
The Ballestas Islands are a group of rocky islands located off the Pacific coast of Peru near the town of Paracas, 3 hours south of Lima. Nicknamed “The Poor Man´s Galapagos”, the islands are a must-see for all wildlife lovers as they’re home to thousands of birds and mammals including penguins, sea lions, Inca terns, pelicans and dolphins. The islands, locally known as The Ballestas Islands, are protected, meaning you cannot swim with the animals or walk on the islands themselves, but you can get very close to them on a boat tour.
Itinerary
They will be picked up from the hotel to transfer them to the bus terminal in Lima. There we will board our touristic bus to go to Paracas, upon our arrival the personal staff will be waiting for us at the terminal to go to the dock, and thus start our tour of the Ballestas Islands on the way we will pass by the Bay, in the Port of San Martin, we will be able to observe “The Candelabro” gigantic figure, that resembles the figures of Nazca and that only can be appreciated from the sea, in the Ballestas Islands we will appreciate the great marine fauna, like the wolves mariners, guano birds, Humbolt penguins, etc. One of the most beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian coast, ending up we arrive at the dock where they will pick us up to transfer us to the Nazca airfield where we will fly over the Nazca Lines, which are mysterious traces made on the sand covering an extension of 350 KM , these represent figures of various animals and plants such as the Spider, The Monkey, The Dog, The Lizard, The Hummingbird, The Condor, among others, in large dimensions that reach 15 to 300 meters each and with a depth of 30 centimeters approximately. After we will have a free time to enjoy a delicious lunch in the area. At the scheduled time we will transfer to the terminal to take our bus back to the City of Lima and then transfer to the Hotel.
