Rainbow Mountain (2 Days – 1 Night)
This is a different and prolonged way to visit the Montaña Vinicunca or Montaña De Colores, Enjoy beautiful landscapes with abundant Andean flora and fauna. Enjoy wonderful views of the Apu Ausangate, one of the highest mountains in Peru and the colorful valley of southern Cusco with its extensive lagoons, Andean villages, rivers and streams. To finally reach our main objective, the extraordinary mountain Vinicunca that is especially attractive for its variety of colors, and also known as Rainbow Mountain.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – PITUMARCA- QUESUNO – LAGUNA CIRCULAR
We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am, we will board our transport for 3 hours of travel, we will stop at a restaurant in one of the small towns along the way to have a delicious local breakfast. The road goes through canyons and deep valleys before reaching the point where we will start the walk. Here we will have ample time to organize our luggage, take a short break to the slopes of Ausangate Mountain, while enjoying a light lunch. Soon we will start our trek ascending for 4 hours towards the circular lagoon, explore the road and the surroundings we will appreciate several local shepherds, extensive pampas and hundreds of alpacas, this is only the beginning of a fascinating adventure.
Once we reach the circular lagoon, where we can enjoy a beautiful afternoon surrounded by waterfalls and the natural beauty of the place; while the sun goes down, we will set up the dining tent with the chairs so that together with the group we will rejoice in an entertaining chat while the dinner is being prepared. The night will be great with the amount of stars in the sky and precise time to make a bonfire.
DAY 2: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CHILCA – CUSCO
A wonderful and expected day we will wake up at 5:00 in the morning, we will start enjoying a coca tea for the cold in our tents, and then we will serve a consistent breakfast to have many strengths for the exciting day that awaits us, we will make our Last climb to the Rainbow mountain located at more than 5100 meters above sea level. From where we will have 360 degree views of the surrounding landscapes and the Apu Ausangate, take the time you want to take several photos and enjoy this magical place. After a while we will begin our descent walk that will last 3 hours until we reach Chilca, on the way we will stop for lunch. Once in Chilca we will board our return transport to the city of Cusco, three more hours of travel, the arrival time to Cusco, will depend on the time we take in the Vinicunca mountain, but an approximate hour would be at 6:00 p.m. we leave you at your hotel.
