Salkantay Trek to Machupicchu (4 Days – 3 Nights)
We invite you to take this alternative path through the Salkantay mountain at 6.264 meters above sea level / 20551 ft which is a sacred mountain of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba and is located south of Machupicchu, where we will walk through beautiful landscapes of different ecological levels as well as inter-Andean valleys. humid forests with all their flora and fauna in the middle of a spectacular geography. It is recommended to have good physical preparation and arrive in Cusco 2 days beforehand for your acclimatization.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA.
Pickup will be from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. Approx. to then board our transport for 4 hours towards the town of Mollepata 2800 masl where we will have our breakfast and then start this exciting adventure with a moderate ascent to the town of Cruzpata where a delicious lunch awaits us with a spectacular view of the valley from Limatambo, after a short break we will continue our tour, approximately 4:30 we will arrive at Soraypampa at 3,900 masl / 10722 feet where we will have dinner and it will be the first camp.

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA– PASO SALKANTAY – COLLPAMPA (CHAULLAY).
After breakfast we will continue our walk along the snowy Salkantay, where we can observe typical animals of the Andean area in the middle of an amazing geography, then we will reach the Salkantay Pass at 4630 meters above sea level where we will perform a small Ceremony to the Pachamama, after this mystic Then we will go to a place called Huarac where we will have our lunch and then we will start descending towards Challhuay at 2800 meters above sea level, where our dinner awaits us and we spend the night there.

DAY 03: CHAULLAY – LA PLAYA – SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES
After breakfast very early in the morning we start our walk approx. 6:30 am, where we can appreciate a variety of flora such as medicinal plants, orchids, ferns a variety of coca crops, considered the sacred leaf of our ancestors, we will also observe birds of different colors, we will also have the opportunity to taste some fruits like the Granadilla, the Orange, the banana among others, and then we will pass through the villages of Collpapampa, La Playa, Lucmabamba. We will also enter the thermal baths where we can bathe for about an hour, and then continue the walk to Winaypujio, where we will have lunch and rest approximately one hour, then continue to La Playa, where a delicious lunch awaits us, then we will walk for 10 minutes to board our transport to Santa Teresa, then to get to Hidroeléctrica. At Hidroeléctrica we start again with our 3 hour walk to the town of Aguas Calientes 2040 meters above sea level. Or you can also take the train that departs from Hidroélectrica to Aguas Calientes (Optional Service). Where we will spend the night.

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICHU – CUSCO
In the early morning around 4.30 in the morning we will ascend by bus to the majestic Inca city of Machupicchu where we will visit accompanied by our guide an approximate of 2 hours in the most important places of this enigmatic place, later they will have the rest of the day in the which you can visit optional (not included in the package) Huayna Picchu, Intipunku, or Mountain Machupicchu or once again the whole citadel, according to the agreed time we return in the afternoon to the hot water town depending on the schedule of our train return which we will announce once you book your trip with our company. We will board the return train until arriving at the town of Ollantaytambo, that’s where our mobility will be waiting for you to return to the city of Cusco.
