Uyuni – Alota – Colored Lagoon (03 Days – 02 Nights)

Itinerary

DAY 1: UYUNI – ALOTA.

Departure from Uyuni towards the town of Colchani, where you can see how and where the inhabitants exploit and refine the salt. . Continue the journey until you find a place where you can see the “Ojos de Sal”. In these small holes you can see water bubbles that are actually underground rivers from the Tunupa Volcano. Depending on the water level in the Salar, you can enter and visit the first hotel built with blocks of salt that is currently a museum. Return to Uyuni to have lunch in this town. The trip continues to San Cristóbal, a town where the richest silver mine in Bolivia is currently located. In the afternoon, we arrive at Alota where we will spend the night. (L, D)

DAY 2: ALOTA –  COLORED LAGOON.

After breakfast, we continue the trip to Paso León where we first visit a viewpoint, from which we have the opportunity to observe the Ollagüe Volcano. The trip continues to visit the high plateau lagoons of: Cañapa, Hedionda and Ramadita. In these lagoons you can find three flamenco classes: Flamenco de Puna, Flamenco Andino and Chilean Flamenco. Lunch on the way and visit the Siloli Desert with its monuments carved by the wind, among which is the famous stone tree. You enter the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve and continue the trip to Laguna Colorada, generally this area is quite windy and cold; If you want you can walk along the shores of the lagoon to observe the hundreds of flamingos that inhabit it. You can also see more Andean fauna such as: Vicuñas, Llamas, Alpacas and Suri or Andean Ñandú. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: COLORED LAGOON – GREEN LAGOON – UYUNI (OR SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA).

After breakfast we leave very early at 05:00 hours, to be able to appreciate the geysers that are at 4900 masl (volcanic fumaroles) are spectacular if we are lucky we can see how they rise to almost 20 meters high; we will visit the thermal baths and if they are animated and resist the cold they can take a bath in these waters that are thermo-medicinal, we will also visit strange rock formations product of the erosion, we go through the Laguna Blanca and continue the trip to the Laguna Verde that at 09:30 it shows an emerald color; then the people with Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama continue their trip, the rest of the group returns to Uyuni through the Valley of the Rocks, on the way we have lunch included. Arriving in Uyuni at approximately 5:00 p.m. (B, L).
